Brewers' Misiorowski Sets Record for Fastest Pitch by SP & MLB Shouts Out WWE's Danhausen over Stats

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski threw the fastest pitch on record for a starting pitcher in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Colorado Rockies.

Misiorowski hit 103.7 mph on the radar gun during an at-bat for Rockies third baseman Kyle Karros in the third inning. Nobody has thrown a pitch harder since at least 2008, when full pitch tracking began.

It was one of 52 pitches that notched triple digits.

While spotlighting Misiorowski's recent dominance on the mound, MLB's X account made a tongue-in-cheek reference to the WWE rivalry between Danhausen and The Miz:

Brewers manager Pat Murphy downplayed the significance of Misiorowski's velocity on its own.

"Miz has got great extension and great velocity, so that doesn't surprise me," he told reporters of the record-breaking effort. "But we've got to get off that — the harder the better, and all that. He's got to throw the ball in the zone and throw his other pitches in the zone. As I say often, good hitters can time up anything."

As a case in point, Misiorowski's 103.7 mph fastball was well out of the zone for a ball, so it didn't actually achieve anything toward getting Karros out.

That wasn't reflective of his overall performance. The 2025 All-Star went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out eight.
