Lance Lynn: Meet the Majors' First 6-Game Winner
Lance Lynn has been nothing short of spectacular as a replacement for Chris Carpenter for the St. Louis Cardinals.
With his performance on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Lynn became the majors' first six-game winner. He tossed just five innings but struck out seven and allowed just as many baserunners. He did not allow a run.
On the season, Lynn is 6-0 in six starts with a 1.40 ERA. He has rung up 37 batters in 38.2 innings and sports a WHIP of 0.85.

He's been truly dominant, and his .168 opponents' batting average proves it.
Lynn told Barry M. Bloom of MLB.com:
"It's good. We're winning games when I'm out there on the mound. That's all that matters. That's what I'm here to do, help the team win. I'm getting a lot of help. I just hope I keep improving every time out.
"
Getting a lot of help is right.
The Cardinals mashed three home runs for Lynn and were up 7-0 when he left the game after the fifth inning.
Allen Craig and David Freese went back-to-back to start the seventh inning, bringing the home run count up to five.
If the Cardinals continue to give Lynn run support, they look to be in good shape every time he toes the rubber.
