Jered Weaver Tosses No-Hitter Against Minnesota Twins
Jered Weaver completed a no-hitter against the Minnesota Twins early Thursday morning.
He was truly masterful, striking out nine and walking just one batter. The only other batter to reach base was Chris Parmalee. He struck out but reached first on a passed ball.
It took Weaver 121 pitches to get through the game, but he was in complete control, tossing 77 strikes. He did it in front of an "empty" stadium, as only 27,288 were in attendance.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Such is the case with the disappointing Angels, as they now sit at 10-15 on the season. Maybe this game can turn things around for the team, though, as their abysmal start has come as a surprise to just about everybody. Albert Pujols has yet to produce, while C.J. Wilson is doing his best to justify the large contract he signed this offseason.
Weaver becomes just the third pitcher since 1990 to throw a no-hitter for the Angels, and the second pitcher in this young season to toss one—Phil Humber tossed a perfect game just a few weeks ago against the Seattle Mariners.
Overall, Weaver has recorded the eighth no-hitter in Angels history, including Mark Langston and Mike Witt's combined no-no in 1990.
Weaver's parents were actually in attendance for the game, and they joined him on the field afterward.
Congratulations, Jered. You've most certainly earned it and now you have cemented yourself in baseball's history books.
