R.A. Dickey Leads New York Mets' Cowboy Ride to Houston
The New York Mets are feeling pretty good about themselves after winning two of three in Colorado over the weekend. Going into Monday's play, the Mets are one game behind the Nationals and Braves for first place in the NL East.
Something about traveling to Texas tends to bring out the cowboy in many of us. Some keep that to themselves, while others let their inner West out for all to see.
Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey clearly belongs to the latter group, getting into the cowboy spirit along with his teammates as the club traveled to Houston after Sunday's game.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
MLB.com's Anthony DiComo took several photos of the Mets in cowboy garb as they left the Coors Field clubhouse. Dickey, in particular, seemed to embrace his role, not just dressing like he was going line dancing (we're looking at you, Ike Davis), but getting into full Seth Bullock mode with sheriff badge and gun. (It should probably be noted that Dickey was packing a toy gun.)
Dickey posted some pictures on his Twitter account, as well. Perhaps the most amusing one included Johan Santana. Or as Dickey called him via Twitter, "The outlaw johanicus wales."
That is one sweet hat, Johanicus. Actually, the whole ensemble is slick. The shirt, the belt buckle, and that is one purdy jacket, partner.
For their fashion sense and fun, I tip a whiskey to the Mets. (Well, figuratively speaking. It's a bit early in the morning for that.) I'd tip a hat, but I don't have a cowboy hat. Maybe I'll fix that next time I go to Nashville.
