Report: Derrick Rose Cleared for Action, Set to Play Against New York Knicks
The moment we've all been waiting for has finally come: Derrick Rose is officially cleared to play today against the New York Knicks.
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Derrick Rose will play with what could be limited minutes. With that being said, coach Tom Thibodeau has stated that Rose has been "explosive" in practice.
If that means Rose is back to himself, it's hard to imagine he'll play anything less than 35 minutes.
When asked how much time he felt he'd spend on the court today, Rose responded with a confident:
""I think it's up to me if I want to play a certain amount of minutes," Rose said Saturday. "I know that if it's a close game, no matter how many minutes they allow me to play, I know that I'm going to want to go out there, probably fight somebody to go out there. But I should be alright."
"
While Bulls fans are certainly cautious about how much action Rose sees, acknowledging the severity of a groin injury, Chicago must be relieved to have their superstar back. Despite going 8-4 in his absence, the Bulls are far from certain to possess home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Their two-and-a-half game lead over the Miami Heat isn't so comfortable, with two games against the Knicks, one against Dallas, one at Indiana and two against those very Heat they lead.
It's going to be an exciting final three weeks of the regular season, as everyone in Chicago and Miami will be on the edge of their seat.
Let's see if the reigning MVP can return to form and lead Chicago to the best record in the NBA.
