LeBron James Injury: Updates on Miami Heat Star's Condition
LeBron James took two hard hits and went crashing to the floor twice during the Miami Heat’s game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
UPDATE: Friday, March 23 at 8:05 a.m. ET by Mike Chiari
Although Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns is one Heat star LeBron James would rather forget as he hit the deck hard twice during the contest, he is apparently none the worse for wear. According to CBS Sports, James is healthy and ready to play on Friday against the Detroit Pistons.
While James suffered a stinger in his elbow and was dealing with a headache stemming from two separate falls against the Suns, he has reportedly passed all tests and won't miss any time. Heat fans and coaches alike had to be holding their collective breath when LeBron was slow to get up, but it appears as though disaster has been averted.
Update: Thursday, March 22 at 8:40 a.m. EDT
The Associated Press (via ESPN) is reporting that LeBron will not miss any games due to his injuries sustained against the Suns and he fully intends to play against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.
He's seemingly not 100 percent right now though.
""I feel good," James said. "I've been better. I'll be better by Friday. But I've been better."
"
Teammate Dwyane Wade seemed concerned but positive the superstar will be just fine. When asked if he could recall a time when James spent so much time on the floor after a collision, the shooting guard said,
""Not that long, When he was still down, I knew it was something. It was a good hit. But he's fine. He's good. He wasn't out of it. He just got hit pretty good."
"

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst , James re-aggravated a right elbow injury that first flared up back when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also took a concerning-looking shot to the head.
The leading MVP candidate only seems worried about the “stinger” to his elbow.
""It's the same elbow I hurt in Cleveland so I was a little off, I would say, for the rest of the game," said James. "We'll see the next couple days. I'll come and get some treatment on it. Hopefully doesn't cause any problems."
"
He suffered the injury after a hard foul courtesy of rookie forward Markieff Morris.
That was the more minor of the two hits that King James took.
It certainly looked like he may have suffered a concussion after colliding with Grant Hill and spent a few minutes on the ground, but the Miami trainers did not test him after the game and let him return after a few basic questions.
It’s strange considering he did not remember the moments after the surprise hit took him to the hardwood.
""I've never had one of those hits since I've had on pads and a helmet. I don't know exactly what happened," James said. "I had a steal coming and the next thing I know, I was on the floor."
"
When asked if he ever had a concussion before, LeBron said, "No, I'm too tough for that.”
That’s quite a ridiculous response, considering NFL players are regularly subject to them and considered some of the toughest men in all of sports.
Regardless, James was able to finish out the game and should be expected to play on Friday night when his squad travels to Detroit to take on the Pistons.
We will keep you updated, right here, over the next few days on any new revelations concerning James’ elbow and head injuries.
