NBA Trades: Ramon Sessions Dealt to L.A. Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have landed the point guard they desperately needed.
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, the Lakers have agreed to send a draft pick to Cleveland in exchange for Ramon Sessions.

Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal provided further details on the trade between the two teams.
"BREAKING NEWS: #Cavs trade Ramon Sessions, Christian Eyenga to Lakers for Luke Walton and Lakers' #1 pick (top 14 protected) in 2012 draft.

But wait, there is more. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported that Jason Kapono will be heading to the Cavaliers as part of the deal.
"As part of the Ramon Sessions package, the Lakers sent Jason Kapono to Cleveland, league source tells Y! Sports.

This deal is a win-win for both teams. The Cavaliers get value for a backup point guard who really had no place with them after the team drafted Kyrie Irving. Walton was basically a throw-in to get the salaries to match up. He has been a non-factor this season, playing in just nine games.
Everyone has said since the start of the season that Los Angeles had to do something at the point guard position. Derek Fisher is 37 years old and clearly not the player he once was. Kobe Bryant was left with the burden of running the offense and setting up his teammates, which is not his cup of tea.
The Lakers didn't have to make a huge splash before the deadline, but acquiring Sessions was an important move they had to make.
With a new floor general at the helm, they can to keep up with the top teams in the West when the playoffs roll around at the end of April.
