Michael Beasley to Lakers Rumors: Beasley Is Perfect Complement to Kobe Bryant
The Los Angeles Lakers need to acquire Michael Beasley from the Minnesota Timberwolves before the trade deadline.
Beasley's game is a perfect complement to Kobe Bryant's dominating presence on the court.
Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com recently reported: "The Lakers revisited talks to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley on Wednesday, multiple league sources told ESPNLosAngeles.com."
Beasley is left-handed, 6'10", 235 pounds and can score in bunches from both the inside and outside.
Remind you of anyone?
Lamar Odom had great success with the Lakers playing alongside Bryant. Beasley will do the same, if given the chance.
As it stands right now for him in Minnesota, Beasley is playing second-fiddle to Wesley Johnson, who fits in the lineup better with Kevin Love.
Metta World Peace (previously Ron Artest) is having a terrible year for the Lakers, scoring only 5.8 points per game. Beasley would be an instant upgrade and the team might finally find some semblance of a real NBA offense.
The deal that is reportedly on the table is a three-way trade with the Timberwolves and the Portland Trailblazers. The only thing the Lakers would be giving up in the deal is one of their first-round picks in 2012.
Can you imagine a lineup of Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Beasley, Bryant and Derek Fisher?
It's a big lineup that could also score, and I can't honestly see any reason the Lakers wouldn't do everything they can to make it happen.
The best part about Beasley as it relates to Bryant is that he's best when he is receiving the ball, which suits Kobe just fine.
Acquiring Beasley will give the Lakers a much better chance at making a deep run in the playoffs.
There is no chance of acquiring Dwight Howard anymore, so the Lakers should do the next best thing and trade for Beasley.
