2012 NFL Free Agents: QB Matt Flynn Not in Cleveland Browns' Plans?
Contrary to yesterday's report that the Cleveland Browns (along with the Miami Dolphins) were aggressively pursuing free-agent quarterback Matt Flynn and may have even offered him a contract, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says it's simply not true.
The initial report came from Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, citing an unnamed source. The Seattle Seahawks have also been connected to the Flynn hunt and the quarterback will be meeting with that team on Thursday and into Friday of this week.
Cabot did some asking around in the Browns organization and it looks as though the team has not reached out to Flynn's people as of today, offering no further comment.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Though this lines up with general manager Tom Heckert's vow to not overspend in free agency, it is still a surprising development for a team thought to be in the thick of the Flynn sweepstakes.
Treading cautiously when it comes to Flynn makes sense; just one look at the disaster that was the Arizona Cardinals' trade for Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb last year is enough to make any team leery of buying into—and overpaying for—the Flynn hype.
If Cleveland makes no overtures to Flynn in the coming days, it's safe to say it's not as interested as once assumed. That means the Browns will be looking at quarterbacks in April's draft if they are looking to make an addition at the position at all.
