NBA Trade Rumors: Ramon Sessions and Players Who Will Be Dealt

Maxwell OgdenMar 14, 2012

The 2012 NBA trade deadline is less than 24 hours away, and as the Monta Ellis trade to the Milwaukee Bucks displayed, anything can happen.

Contenders are looking for the final piece to take them to the title. Pretenders are looking for the player who can make them legitimate. And for some teams, they just need to ship a player out and start anew.

Regardless of why, there are numerous players ready to call a new city home. The only questions remaining are when will they go and where will they end up?

I've got the answers right here.

Boris Diaw, Forward, Charlotte Bobcats

1 of 7

As reported by Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, Boris Diaw has requested either a trade or buyout from the Charlotte Bobcats. As for his possible destination, the New Jersey Nets are at the heart of the trade discussions.

Whether or not a deal will be made is uncertain, but Diaw has an expiring contract and undeniable talent. Look for a contender to look his way.

Devin Harris, Point Guard, Utah Jazz

According to Jody Genessy of the Deseret News, the Utah Jazz are "actively looking" at trades. As Brian T. Smith of the Salt Lake Tribune reports, Devin Harris and C.J. Miles are the two most likely to be shipped out.

With numerous teams in need of a point guard, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers, the likelihood of such a deal certainly increases.

Jamal Crawford, Guard, Portland Trail Blazers

Ken Berger of CBS Sports reported that the Portland Trail Blazers are leaning towards retaining, not trading, Jamal Crawford. Considering the Clippers have lost eight of their past 12 games, I don't see that happening.

The Clippers have expressed interest in Crawford for quite some time now, with the Bobcats recently emerging as a second contender.

Update: Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that a three-way deal is being discussed, with Crawford going to Minnesota and Michael Beasley headed to the Lakers.

Michael Beasley, Forward, Minnesota Timberwolves

The trade talks may have quieted down, but a deal is almost certain to happen.

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, potential suitors include the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. With the Lakers declining the original Beasley offer, however, the suitors could be down to two.

Fortunately for Beasley, the Orlando Magic have Dwight Howard and vowed to place talent around him. With Monta Ellis off of the trade market, the chances Beasley hits Orlando certainly increase.

Ramon Sessions, Point Guard, Cleveland Cavaliers

It's been months since news first broke of the Los Angeles Lakers' desire to acquire Ramon Sessions as the point guard of their future. With the trade deadline less than 24 hours away, those talks have yet to die down.

Surprisingly, the Lakers aren't the only team interested. Tom Reed of The Plain Dealer claims that the Minnesota Timberwolves, the same team who sent Sessions to the Cavs, are interested in re-acquiring the point guard.

Between Ricky Rubio's season-ending injury and Kyle Lowry's bacterial infection virtually ending the Pau Gasol trade talks, Sessions' chances of being shipped out have increased drastically.

Raymond Felton, Point Guard, Portland Trail Blazers

6 of 7

There are far too many teams in dire need of a point guard for Felton to stay put. More specifically, the Trail Blazers are far too interested in a Felton for Steve Blake swap for it not to happen.

With multiple sources confirming Portland's hope to move their struggling point guard, it seems all but done. At this point, all that's unknown is where he'll end up.

Toney Douglas, Guard, New York Knicks

7 of 7

Entering the season, Toney Douglas was the Knicks' starting point guard. As the trade deadline rapidly approaches, he's the most likely Knick to be moved.

According to Jared Zwerling of ESPN New York, the Knicks are exploring trade options for Douglas. With injuries in the front court and an embarrassing minus-18 rebounding margin against the Bulls, it's likely to be for some frontcourt help.

While no specific team has emerged as a possible suitor, the Magic are one to consider. Orlando vowed to place quality talent around Dwight Howard, and while Douglas isn't a star, he'd certainly add depth to the Magic's weak backcourt.

Daniel Orton's expiring contract could come into play.
