Pacers vs Heat: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info and More

Eric BowmanJun 7, 2018

The Indiana Pacers have lost two games in a row now, and trying to end that streak will be no easy task as they hit the road to play the Miami Heat

Indiana has a rough stretch of games ahead and desperately needs a win. However, the Heat plan to extend their winning streak to three games and inch closer to the first-place Chicago Bulls

There is a lot of basketball left to be played, but it's pretty safe to say that both of these teams will make the playoffs this year.

This is an important matchup for both teams, but especially for Indiana. The Pacers have been blown out by the Heat twice, so they're hoping the third time will be the charm in Miami.

With that said, let's take a look at some specifics for this Eastern Conference showdown.

When: Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. EST

Where: American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL

Watch: Sun Sports

Live Stream: NBA League Pass

Betting Line: TBD

What's At Stake?

For the Pacers, this is a chance to prove they can hang with the big boys of the NBA.

If they want to have success in the postseason, beating the top teams in the league during the regular season will be crucial. Coming off losses to Chicago and Atlanta, the Pacers have to thrive against Miami or risk going on an extended losing streak.

For the Heat, this is another chance to solidify how superior they are. They can't afford to slip up against weaker teams.

What They're Saying

Trade rumors are heating up around this time of year, and the Pacers are one of the many teams involved in them.

Mike Wells covers the Pacers for the Indianapolis Star, and he tweeted who the Pacers have interest in.

"

Center Chris Kaman still sits at top of the list for Pacers, but they will not give up a 1st rd pick for his expiring contract

— Mike Wells (@MikeWellsNBA) March 8, 2012"

With the trade deadline a few days away (March 15), the Pacers are certainly a team to keep an eye on. They need more depth if they want to win big, and Kaman would definitely give them that.

Kaman is a great player capable of solid points and rebounds every night. Indiana would be very wise to pick him up if possible, but figuring out what to give up will be tough.

Ira Winderman covers the Heat for the South Florida Sun Sentinel, and he was asked by a fan if LeBron James could win Defensive Player of the Year.

"

You would be hard pressed to find a perimeter defender who has accomplished more than LeBron on that end of the court. He has made game-defining plays on both ends, and his blocked shots have been every bit as impactful, if not more so, than Dwight's. I would have no issue with Dwight taking the honor. But any perimeter defender ahead of LeBron would be an injustice, at least at this stage.

"

LeBron does it all for the Heat, and it would not be a big surprise if he won the Defensive Player of the Year award.

He leads the team in nearly every major category, including steals. LeBron is a beast on the court and definitely needs to be considered for Defensive Player of the Year in addition to league MVP.

Indiana Player to Watch

Danny Granger is the top offensive player for the Pacers, but has struggled both times he has faced the Heat. He was injured in the first quarter the last time they played, and the first time he only scored six points.

All eyes will be on Granger Saturday night. Indiana really needs him to succeed, because if he doesn't, the Pacers will be toast.

Granger averages 18 points per game on the year, but in the two games against Miami he's scored a total of just nine points.

Miami Player to Watch

LeBron James is always the player to watch when talking about the Heat. He currently leads the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals.

As one of the best players in the league, LeBron is bound to put on a show each and every game.

Against the Pacers this year, LeBron scored 33 points in the first matchup and 23 in the second. Look for him to continue to excel against Indiana.

Key Matchup

The matchups down low will be extremely crucial in this game. The Pacers do a very good job at rebounding the ball, ranking fourth in the league.

If Indiana is going to win, they will need to control the paint and prevent Miami from second chance points. In addition to that, they'll need to crash the boards hard and dominate the Heat on the glass.

Should that happen, the Heat will be in real trouble, as they'll then need to rely on perimeter shooting to get the job done. They clearly have the talent to do that, but you never know if one of their stars will have an off-night.

Prediction

Indiana's losing streak is going to extend to three games. Miami is the better team, and the Heat will make sure they give their home crowd a great victory.

Final Score:

Heat 101, Pacers 92
