Did Kobe Bryant Suffer a Concussion at the All-Star Game?
Kobe Bryant's record-setting All-Star Game performance didn't come without consequence.
Most people expected the Los Angeles Lakers star to close in or pass Michael Jordan as the highest-scoring All-Star of all time (which he did), but they didn't expect him to come out of the game with another injury.
Bryant took an ugly shot to the face from Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, but finished out the game before getting evaluated. However, the CT scan, according to ESPN, revealed a nasal fracture.
That wasn't all either—according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, Bryant's head was also rattled:
"Besides a broken nose, Kobe Bryant sustained a mild concussion Sunday night in the All-Star game, league source tells Y! Sports.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) Febr. 27, 2012"
The report is unconfirmed, but Woj is as reliable a source as Kobe is a fixture at the All-Star Game.
The Lakers don't get back on the court until Wednesday, and when they do, they'll open a three-game homestand at the Staples Center against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Every game counts for this Lakers team and having Bryant on the court is imperative to their success.
His official status will be known soon, but we can bet he'll be back on the court, at the very latest, when LeBron James and the Heat come calling next Sunday in a nationally televised showdown on ABC.
