WWE Raw: What to Expect and What to Forget for Feb. 6
Tonight, WWE's Raw Supershow comes from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla. Last week we saw the return of The Undertaker when he seemingly challenged Triple H at WrestleMania. We also saw the beginnings of the CM Punk/Chris Jericho feud the WWE Universe has anticipated since Y2J's return.
Here are some things you should and should not expect to see tonight on Raw.
Expect It: The Return of Jim Ross
1 of 6Tonight's edition of Raw Supershow is from the home state of Good Ol' J.R., Jim Ross. J.R. is almost always put on WWE programming when the show comes to Oklahoma. However, it's typically some sort of embarrassing angle. While we can definitely expect to see him tonight, I hope he only does what he does best and sit behind the commentary table.
Forget It: John Laurinaitis Being Fired
2 of 6As Raw went off the air last week, it appeared as though Triple H was going to relieve John Laurinaitis of his duties as Interim Raw General Manager. In the event that The Undertaker didn't make his return, I still don't believe Laurinaitis would have been fired. He's given the fans quality matches like Punk vs. Ziggler, and his watching-paint-dry character has actually developed into something entertaining.
I personally still feel he'll have a huge involvement in the Punk/Jericho angle and don't see him leaving WWE TV for quite some time.
Expect It: Jericho/Punk Interaction
3 of 6Much to the world's desire, we saw the beginnings of the CM Punk/Chris Jericho feud last week. After his match with Daniel Bryan, Punk received a Code Breaker courtesy of Y2J. This could be all part of a big plan for their assumed WrestleMania match. It could also mean nothing other than two Elimination Chamber participants going at it. As seen by last month's Royal Rumble, the WWE is starting to throw some curves our way.
Forget It: Dolph Ziggler's Main Event Push
4 of 6With the return of Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler appears to have lost his spot in the rotation of main event wrestlers. Before Y2J's return, it looked as if Ziggler would enter a WWE Championship feud with Punk. Currently, John Cena has his feud with Kane, Sheamus will more than likely be contending for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, and Randy Orton is helping to push Wade Barrett. I could see Dolph Ziggler spending some time as Tag Team Champion with current United States Champion, Jack Swagger.
Expect It: The Undertaker WILL Face Triple H at WrestleMania
5 of 6As we approach what is most likely Undertaker's final match at WrestleMania 28, the wheels are completely in motion for him to face Triple H this year. Many people are disappointed due to this being the third WrestleMania match between the two, but what can't be ignored is their incredible match at last year's event.
In a recent article I wrote, (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1026837-wweundertakers-wrestlemania-return-why-vince-mcmahons-opinion-doesnt-matter) I mentioned that there is no reason for anyone else to face The Deadman other than Triple H. For any of the top wrestlers in the WWE to take a loss to Taker in what may be his last match would be asinine as it would do nothing positive for their career. On the flip side of that coin, if ANY wrestler were to break The Streak, the fans would be less receptive of them than expected.
What Do You Expect?
6 of 6What do you think will happen on tonight's Raw Supershow? Will Jericho cut a lengthy promo? Will Dolph Ziggler get to the top of the mountain? Will the big brother/little brother angle between Cena and Ryder finally come to an end?
