Dwight Howard's Chicago Bulls Comments Reveal Eroding Mental Health
The never-ending rush of trade rumors has inflated Dwight Howard's ego and worn him down to the point of lunacy. This exhaustive cycle of speculation has clearly taken its toll.
The latest sign is D-12's comments on possibly joining the Chicago Bulls.
This tweet sums up the state of his opinion from the last couple of days.
The first part of that tweet was in regard to Howard's comments following the Magic's loss to the lowly NBA-run Hornets. Those thoughts come to us via ESPNChicago.com:
"I look at guys and they don't look like they want to play. I told them at halftime, "If you don't want to play, just stay in the locker room, because it don't make sense for a team who we should beat to just demolish us."
"
Those are harsh words for a teammate to bring to the press, and it certainly seems a bit out of character for the typically affable big man.
But this is the kind of thing that stress can do to a person. And those comments seem mild in light of the thoughts he offered up to the Chicago Tribune's Vaughn McClure about joining the Bulls.
Previously, Chicago had not been on a widely reported, and growing, list of teams that Howard wanted to join. That list was the Lakers, Clippers, Mavericks and Nets.
Now, the Bulls join this elite company. Not that it matters. According to Howard, this matter is well out of the hands of any mortal.
McClure lends us this insight with a tweet.
Although you have to wonder who D-12 was referring to as the Almighty. After this tweet, it seems possible that he was referencing the ruler of the NBA reality i.e. a shoe company.
So if it wasn't Adidas, why weren't the Bulls on the list in the first place? It must be that Howard was hesitant to play with MVP Derrick Rose. Wrong!
As ESPNChicago relayed, Howard "loves" Rose. "That's my brother," he announced.
They don't look that much alike. Perhaps they are half-brothers, with fathers of vastly different heights.
Or maybe, just maybe, they aren't brothers at all, and this was just Howard continuing to chug down the tracks leading to Carried Awayville.
Let's just hope he is actually traded before that train blows right through that city and lands right in the middle of Crazy Town.
