2012 NFL Mock Draft: David Wilson and Studs Who Will Slide out of 1st Round
We know Andrew Luck, Morris Claiborne, Matt Kalil and Justin Blackmon are going to be selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.
We know Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson, David DeCastro and Riley Reiff will join them.
But there are a number of college stars in this year's draft class who could very easily slide down into the second round despite their first-round abilities.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
For starters, the running back position is completely de-valued in the NFL draft these days. Trent Richardson is an elite talent, but it would hardly be shocking to see the likes of Lamar Miller, Chris Polk and David Wilson slide down the board.
Wilson, at 5'10", 205 pounds, is an all-around talent with game-breaking speed and versatility.
The demand for running backs isn't extremely high, though, and he could be scooped up early in the second round and make a difference immediately.
Much of the same goes for defensive tackle Jerel Worthy. The Michigan State junior is 6'3", 305 pounds and can dominate when he wants. There are times where he doesn't give his all, and his work ethic has been questioned. He could go in the mid-to-late first round but could also slide down to second.
One other defensive stud who sticks out is Dont'a Hightower of Alabama. He's not great laterally and lacks the overall athleticism that former teammate and current Raider Rolando McClain possesses. He's more instinctive, though, and an imposing figure at 6'4", 260 pounds.
He could find a home in the late first round but is more likely to slide down the board.
1. Indianapolis Colts (2-14): Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
No sliding here, Luck is the draft's best player and an easy pick for the Colts.
2. St. Louis Rams (4-12): Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
Blackmon is a reach here, and there is a solid chance that the Rams trade out of this spot. They are desperate for a playmaker with his skills though.
3. Minnesota Vikings (3-13): Matt Kalil, OT, USC
The Vikes can't go wrong with Blackmon, Kalil or Morris Claiborne. The USC tackle helps their two most important players, Christian Ponder and Adrian Peterson, immediately.
4. Cleveland Browns (2-14): Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
It is foolish to listen to rumors during the draft process, but right now there is talk of the Browns not being sold on the Heisman Trophy winner. He'll be the target of a trade up at No. 2 or No. 3 by other teams.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-12): Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
With Greg Schiano now in charge, the Bucs need themselves a true all-purpose back.
6. Washington Redskins (5-11): Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
This is a reach, but if the 'Skins miss out on Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn, they'll be in desperation mode at QB.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11): Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
The Jags catch a steal here, and new coach Mike Mularkey would be a fool to pass on the best player on the board.
8. Carolina Panthers (6-10)*: Quinton Coples, DE, UNC
The top defensive line prospect is too talented for Ron Rivera to leave on the board.
9. Miami Dolphins (6-10)*: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
The Dolphins will be heavy in the chase of Peyton and Flynn, and should they land one they'll be best served to add a bookend opposite Jake Long.
10. Buffalo Bills (6-10): Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama
The top pass rusher available fits in perfectly with the Bills' 3-4.
11. Seattle Seahawks (7-9)*: Devon Still, DT, Penn State
The Seahawks can do a number of things here, and adding a dominating interior lineman like Still is a good value.
12. Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)*: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
Getting the running game going has to be new boss Romeo Crennel's prime objective.
13. Arizona Cardinals (8-8): Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
Instinctive inside linebacker gives the Cards a tackler they can depend on for the next decade.
14. Dallas Cowboys (8-7): David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
Adding balance to the offense will give Jason Garrett the best chance of keeping his job. DeCastro is an elite prospect at the guard position and can help put the running game on track.
15. Philadelphia Eagles (8-8): Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Floyd is a perfect complement opposite the Eagles' smaller receivers.
16. New York Jets (8-8): Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina
Adding a legitimate pass rusher will be too much for Rex Ryan to pass on.
17. Cincinnati Bengals (via OAK 8-8): Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
The Crimson Tide corner has too much talent for the Bengals, a team that deals with questionable character often, to ignore.
18. San Diego Chargers (8-8): Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC
A potentially elite pass rusher is ideal for a Chargers team that doesn't have one.
19. Chicago Bears (8-8): Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin
The massive center makes the Bears' entire O-line better.
20. Tennessee Titans (9-7): Michael Brockers, DT, LSU
The super-talented youngster can be coached up in Tennessee.
21. Cincinnati Bengals (9-7): Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
Miller's speed will be a solid addition to a team looking to replace Cedric Benson.
22. Cleveland Browns (via ATL 10-6): Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina
The Gamecocks receiver is supremely talented but is arguably the biggest boom or bust prospect in the draft.
23. Detroit Lions (10-6): Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
Detroit needs an upgrade at tackle, and the towering Adams could be the answer.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4): Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia
The versatile Bulldog is massive and can play tackle or guard. The Steelers need help all over their front line.
25. Denver Broncos (8-8): Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
The Broncos and coach John Fox would love to add Cox's size and versatility to their defensive front.
26. Houston Texans (10-6): Mark Barron, S, Alabama
A bit of a slide for Barron, but he'll fit in great in the revamped Houston secondary.
27. New England Patriots (via NO 13-3): Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
Bill Belichick is no fool and will have done his homework on the former Gator.
28. Green Bay Packers (15-1): Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska
Dennard will fall a bit due to doubts on his speed, but his physical style fits in great with the Pack.
29. Baltimore Ravens (12-4): Vontaze Burfict, LB, ASU
Taming Burfict will be a challenge, but this locker room is the perfect situation for him.
30. San Francisco 49ers (13-3): Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
Speedy receiver gives Alex Smith someone other than Vernon Davis to stretch the field.
+31. New York Giants (9-7): Zach Brown, OLB, UNC
Brown is undersized but is a terrific athlete. Can help the Giants immediately in coverage in the second level.
+32. New England Patriots (13-3): Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers
Sanu's versatility and overall potential give Belichick every reason to jump on the Rutgers junior.
