Pro Bowl Roster 2012: Aaron Rodgers and QBs Ready to Dominate

Justin WeltonJun 7, 2018

There are three reasons to watch the 2012 NFL Pro Bowl and they are all under center for the NFC. Quarterbacks tend to steal the show at the Pro Bowl and this year will be no different. These three quarterbacks will dominate the competition.

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is eager to get on the football field after losing to the New York Giants in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. His performance was lacking significantly compared to what we are used to seeing. He finished with well less than 300 yards passing.

Rodgers only threw four interceptions compared to 45 touchdowns this season—he’s ready to redeem is subpar performance.

Watching Rodgers struggle against the Giants was strange given how well he played all season long. The Packers received every team’s best game yet claimed victory in all but two. Rodgers led the way.

Give him a reliable offensive line and he’ll carve the defense up all day long. Watch for it to happen on Sunday.

Cam Newton

Doesn’t it seem like Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton would be perfect at an All-Star event? He has the swagger, he has the popularity and he has the overall skill set to make some major noise for the NFC.

He can pass, run and give you highlight reel plays. If you don’t watch the Pro Bowl every year, Newton would be a good reason why you should this year.

Newton is the type of kid that won’t be starstruck in the moment of being surrounded by the best players in the game. He believes that he deserves to be there and he wants to prove why.

The question in the NFC this season was this: Who is having the better season, Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers? Give me one and I’ll be happy.

Lucky for fans of the NFC, they will have both in the Pro Bowl. Similar to his comrade Rodgers, Brees is coming off one of the greatest single seasons in NFL history. He passed for 5,476 yards and 46 touchdowns.

His 5,476 yards is the most in a single season in NFL history.

Brees against a defense that won’t blitz screams loads of trouble for the AFC; Brees will have a great day passing to talented weapons.
