Arsenal Transfer Rumors: 10 Budget Signings That Could Make a Difference
Arsene Wenger has been proven as only splashing the cash when he has no other choice or if it is a good deal.
Despite the crazy valuation of some players out there in the market, there are still those that have great potential to make a difference in a side for a less than outrageous price tag.
Arsenal are one of those clubs that very rarely break the bank, and with that in mind, it is more apt to look at players that Arsene Wenger could have a real chance of actually signing should he decide to enter the market.
Gary Cahill
1 of 10The Gunners certainly had the time to try and make a move for now Chelsea man Gary Cahill, but it never happened as he is one that got away.
A cut price of only £7 million was all it took for the Blues to prise him away from Bolton.
However, his wage bill was a frustration, but then again there are few players that don't have hefty wage bills anymore.
Vedrun Corluka
2 of 10Tottenham's Vedran Corluka is not a huge priority to move to Arsenal as he plays for their arch-rivals.
However, with the player hardly getting a sniff at first team action, the Gunners could pounce if they wanted to for a fee in the range of £7 million.
Scott Dann
3 of 10Scott Dann is not the only Blackburn Rover's player linked to Arsenal this transfer window, but the former Birmingham player could be available for an estimated £8 million.
Rovers paid a believed £6 million for the player back in August and will hope to recoup at least that if they were to let the player go as rumored by The Week.
Maxi Lopez
4 of 10Fulham have reportedly been turned down for a loan move to take Maxi Lopez to Craven Cottage, as AC Milan are believed to circling the player as reported by the Daily Mirror.
However, Arsenal could have the pull to make a loan offer for the player or signing him from Catania as his value is believed to be around £6.5 million.
Steven Pienaar
5 of 10Tottenham outcast Steven Pienaar could make a great additional squad player for the Gunners, as what he sometimes lacks in skill he can make up for with grit and hard work.
He could possibly be snapped up for around £6 million, as that is the number Tottenham are demanding from Queens Park Rangers, who already had a bid of £3 million rejected according to the Daily Mail.
Milos Krasic Loan
6 of 10Juventus Winger Milos Krasic has been on the lookout for a loan move of permanent switch to allow him more first team action.
With Andrei Arshavin looking to be sold, the Gunners could use more cover on the wings. You can see nothing but potential from a group of Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and a temporary Krasic arrival from Juventus.
Damba Ba
7 of 10Although he has not made a lot of noise in the EPL this month while on duty at the African Cup of Nations, Newcastle United's Demba Ba was the topic of much discussion earlier this month.
It is believed that his release clause of only around £7 million could cause multiple clubs to chase after him, and Arsenal could use another proven goal threat like himself in their roster.
Chris Samba
8 of 10Blackburn Rovers have rejected a £6.5 million bid from Queens Park Rangers according to the Daily Mail.
The club have tagged him with a £12-14 million valuation, and the player believes it could hinder his possibility of a move.
However, if Arsenal were to meet in the middle around £9-10 million, it is possible they could add some extra muscle at the back.
Jan Vertonghen
9 of 10Belgian defender for Ajax Amsterdam, Jan Vertonghen was once again rumored to be heading to the EPL as Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester Untied are all reportedly interested by Metro.
A cost of £10 million could be a great bargain if he were to live up to his potential, and his already in place partnership with Thomas Vermaelen would be a major bonus.
Peter Odemwingie
10 of 10Peter Odemwingie scored 15 goals last season the EPL for West Bromwich Albion as the Baggies made a strong second half finish.
This season the player only has four goals and one assist after having a slow start to his personal campaign due to injury.
A price tag of £8 million has been slapped on him by Roy Hodgson, according to the Daily Mirror, in hopes that he would not attract to much interest, but he would be a great back up to Robin Van Persie and could make a difference off the bench as well.
