NBA Trade Rumors: Dwight Howard Needs to Keep Quiet and Let Saga Play Out
Dwight Howard recently added the Los Angeles Clippers to his list of teams that he's interested in.
Now he's not interested interested in them after all.
Howard is one of those guys with a great personality and a definite fan favorite, but he's handled his trade demand pretty awfully.
The best thing Howard can do is to just sit back and shut up.
Let the situation play out the way it's going to play out.
We don't need a daily update from Howard.
How many times a week do we have to hear about the fact that his trade demands are still there? It's been about six weeks now. We all get the point that you want out of Orlando.
Maybe the less he complains, the quicker things will eventually get done.
The NBA is a business, and right now the superstars are able to hold teams hostage until they get their way.
Ultimately, Howard shouldn't have any say on where he's dealt to anyway. He should have all the say on where he eventually signs, but absolutely none on where he's traded. That's an organizational decision, not an individual one.
Now because of his demands, his trade market is affected.
For the most part, the teams that Howard wants to be traded to don't have the necessary assets to acquire him anyway.
So while Howard has himself in a bad spot, he really has no one to blame but himself.
By coming out every other day and reassuring everyone that he wants traded and will only go to his selected three teams, he looks selfish in the process.
For Howard, the only real thing to do is to sit back, shut up and let the situation play out as it will.
