Miami Heat Light Up Spurs in Second Half, Win 120-98

Dan VastaJun 7, 2018

The Miami Heat started out slow Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, but they went bonkers in the second half as they capped off an impressive 120-98 victory.

LeBron James showed the nation why he is arguably the most explosive and talented player in the world as he went for 33 points on 12-of-21 shooting, and he also had 10 assists and five rebounds.

The other star was Chris Bosh, who went for 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists on the night (highlight reel end-to-end finish with spin move and slam dunk). The X-factor of the game was easily Mike Miller, who appeared in his first game of the season.

Miller reminded us of how electric this Miami team can be as he drilled all six of his three-point attempts.

Mario Chalmers was the fourth player that reached double digits during the blowout victory, and he too went bonkers from distance (4-of-6 from 3 for 13 points). The team combined for 16 shots from downtown and it completely turned around a game that once looked scary during most of the first half.

Many forget that the Heat were down by 14 points at halftime and at one point looked up at the scoreboard and saw themselves trailing by 17.

Danny Green had 20 points and DeJuan Blair went for 13 points, but Tim Duncan struggled a tad (4-of-10) ending up with eight points and seven rebounds.

Point guard Tony Parker was on a torrid pace and yet he managed to end up with only 18 points and three assists. Miami's defense took it up several notches right out of the gates and it was amazing to watch the third quarter.

The Heat outscored the Spurs 39-12 in the third with LeBron James notching 17 points and his Heat went unconscious by hitting six threes.

Miami (9-4) played the perfect game to put their three-game losing streak behind them, and they should just be concerned about not rushing Mr. Wade back from injury.

Thursday night they will be hosting the "Black Mamba" in what should be a remarkable game on national television (TNT).

Meanwhile, San Antonio (9-5) is still searching for their first road victory and the hope is they will be ready tomorrow night (Wednesday) against the Orlando Magic.
