WWE Hall of Fame: 11 Wrestlers Who Should Have Been Inducted in Before Edge
First things first, Edge absolutely deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. But he should not be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year because it is too soon.
He has won a total of 14 tag team championships, 12 of them being the World Tag Team Titles and the other two being the WWE Tag Team Championships.
As a singles competitor, Edge has won 17 championships in the WWE. He has won the WWE Title four times and the World Heavyweight Championship seven times, which is more than any other wrestler ever.
There is absolutely no argument that Edge deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. He is easily among the top 25 WWE wrestlers of all time.
However, there are other superstars that should be included in the 2012 inductions before Edge.
'Macho Man' Randy Savage
1 of 11One of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time passed away this past May. Randy "Macho Man" Savage died after suffering a heart attack while driving.
One way for the WWE to pay their respects to the Macho Man would be to finally induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.
He is one of the most popular and successful wrestlers in the history of World Wrestling Entertainment. He won the WWE Championship twice at WrestleManias, and his match with Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3 is arguably the greatest match the WWE has ever had.
Savage deserved to be in the Hall of Fame a long time ago, and this year is a perfect opportunity to finally put him in and pay respects to the loss of a great superstar.
Bob Backlund
2 of 11Bob Backlund's first WWE Champiohip reign lasted close to six years. Enough said.
But to further argue, Backlund once again won the title over a decade later. He has been the WWE Champion four times and is one of the best pure wrestlers in the history of the company.
Ultimate Warrior
3 of 11The Ultimate Warrior was one of the most intense and unique WWE wrestlers of all time, which makes the fact that he declined the opportunity to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.
Warrior is one of the most bitter wrestlers to ever come out of the company and does not have a good relationship with Vince McMahon.
However, he deserves to be a part of the Hall of Fame. He was never the best technical wrestler in the ring, but that never stopped him from being one of the most successful wrestlers in the 80's, including beating Hulk Hogan for the WWE (WWF) Championship at WrestleMania VI.
Bruno Sammartino
4 of 11Bruno Sammartino is a two-time WWE Champion, and his two reigns combined totaled over 11 years. He was crucial for the WWE when it split from the NWA and made the company very popular among the Northeast of the United States.
Bruno has apparently turned down the WWE's invitation to be inducted into the Hall of Fame because he has not liked where the company has gone (less about just the wrestling).
Rick Rude
5 of 11Another Superstar who has passed away and deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame is Rick Rude.
Rude was an ideal heel with perfect heel charisma. He was hated by everyone, and he played off the hate so well.
"Ravishing" Rick Rude was one of the best superstars on the mic and was a four-time World Champion.
Owen Hart
6 of 11The fact that Owen Hart is still not in the WWE Hall of Fame is baffling. The problems with Vince McMahon and Bret Hart are resolved, and Bret is in the Hall of Fame.
Owen Hart was one of the best in-ring wrestlers and died in the ring.
The WWE should recognize that he was a great wrestler and should pay their long overdue respects and induct Owen into the Hall of Fame
Jim Neidhart
7 of 11Another wrestler from the Hart dynasty that could be inducted into the Hall of Fame is Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.
Neidhart is the father of current WWE Diva Natalya. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame because of the impact and significance he had on the WWE's Tag Team division as being one half of the original Hart Foundation.
Jake Roberts
8 of 11Jake "The Snake" Roberts had one of the most memorable gimmicks of all time. His dark charisma and promos with the use of snakes made him a wrestling icon.
Roberts is not necessarily an obvious choice to make it into the WWE because he does not have all the accomplishments as some of these other superstars, but just the fact that he is the icon that he is in the company could get him in.
Mick Foley
9 of 11Mick Foley returned to the WWE this year. He has not really had an impact yet, and his return, as of right now, seemed pointless.
It seemed as if maybe he was returning to the WWE just to retire with the company and be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
If WrestleMania returns to Madison Square Garden, that may be a more fitting location for Foley to get inducted in.
Vincent Kennedy McMahon
10 of 11Although it is just apart of a storyline, Vince McMahon is no longer the "boss" of the WWE. What better time to induct Vince McMahon into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside his father then right now?
He is responsible for the WWE being the phenomenon that it is, and there is nobody better than him in getting the reaction he wants out of the fans.
McMahon does not need any explanation or argument on his qualification to be inducted in.
Since he is supposedly not running the company anymore, the timing makes sense for Vince to be celebrated for all he has done for this business.
The Rock
11 of 11All signs pointed towards the Rock leading the Hall of Fame class of 2012. He is returning to headline WrestleMania 28. The event is in Miami, his hometown.
It seemed as if the WWE was waiting for something before they inducted Rock in, and maybe this match against Cena will be that something.
The Rock is a nine-time World Heavyweight Champion and one of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time.
Having the "Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" inducted into the Hall of Fame would have made his return at WrestleMania all the more exciting and special.
