Jake Paul's MVP Rips Rumors Mike Tyson Fight Was Rigged as 'an Insult to Boxing'
Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions released a statement on Monday condemning rumors that his fight against Mike Tyson was rigged.
"Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters need to tolerate nonsensical commentary, jokes and opinions," the statement said. "But suggesting anything other than full effort from these fighters is not only naive but an insult to the work they put into their craft and to the sport itself."

Paul previously addressed claims during an appearance on the Impaulsive podcast.
"People don't realize my power, and my jab and my speed and my ability, and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches, so then all of a sudden he's throwing at, literally, air," he said (h/t CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri).
The 27-year-old defeated the former heavyweight champion via unanimous decision during their sanctioned bout on Nov. 15.
While Paul showed respect to Tyson as the fight wound down, he also made headlines after confirming that he took his foot off the gas instead of attempting to knock his 58-year-old opponent out.
"Definitely," he said following the match. "I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn't want to hurt someone that didn't need to be hurt."
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, also dispelled claims that the fight was rigged during an interview with Ryan Morik of Fox News.
"Our partner was Netflix, who is the biggest media company in America and is a public entity," Bidarian explained. "There was professional sports betting on the event. So, if you were to rig such competition, it is a federal crime. And myself, Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, executives from Netflix would all be going to jail, they would be risking their entire company, and we would be risking our entire lives to do that."
The clash was originally scheduled to occur on July 20, but it was ultimately pushed back after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. During the eventual fight, he was able to keep up with Paul through the first few rounds but gradually wore down as the match continued.
Most Valuable Promotions vehemently denied all accusations of a rigged bout on Monday, though.
