16-Year-Old Quincy Wilson Will Be Youngest Ever to Rep USA in Olympic Track and Field
Quincy Wilson will be making history at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 16-year-old will participate as part of the men's 4x400-meter relay team on Friday, becoming the youngest American male to participate in an Olympic track and field event (via ESPN's Coley Harvey).
"Tune in Friday morning," Wilson wrote in the caption of an Instagram post on Thursday, seemingly confirming his impending Olympic debut.

Wilson's trip to Paris started after he secured a time of 45.19 seconds at the 2024 Florida Relays, earning an automatic bid into the United States Olympic trials. While he was unable to qualify during the individual 400-meter dash at trials, he was still selected to the men's relay pool.
"When I got the call, I was like, I was ecstatic," Wilson said, per Harvey. "I started running around the house. It was just a moment for me because everybody dreams about going to the Olympics as a young kid."
Despite his failure to qualify in the 400-meter dash, he still looked impressive during trials. He snapped Darrell Robinson's 42-year-old record among under-18 athletes on multiple occasions, starting off with a first-round time of 44.66 seconds. Wilson broke his own record two days later, recording a time of 44.59 seconds in the semifinals.
He's received praise from several of his U.S. teammates, as 100-meter dash gold medalist Noah Lyles has publicly expressed his support for Wilson in numerous social media posts.
Although the teenager missed 4x400-meter mixed relay heats in Paris, he'll still be able to make an impact in his first Olympic appearance. Wilson will be joining a relay team that will be looking to defend a gold medal victory during the Tokyo Games.
He'll officially make his debut on Friday at 5:05 a.m. ET.
