French Open 2024 Results: Instant Reactions to Friday's Winners and Losers
After seeing his chances of making the French Open final in 2023 derailed by cramps, Carlos Alcaraz made sure to seize the moment and earn his first French Open final appearance.
The 21-year-old rallied from a set down as well as a service break to defeat No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner in five sets.
The Spaniard will face No. 5 seed Alexander Zverev, who avenged his semifinal loss against No. 7 Casper Ruud a year ago.
The win marks one of the biggest for Zvervev, who will be making his first appearance in the French Open final after falling in the semifinals three straight years.
While Alcaraz has already won two Grand Slam titles, Zverev is still looking for that coveted first.

Carlos Alcaraz Magical in Win Against Jannik Sinner
2 of 3
Carlos Alcaraz quickly found himself down 6-2, 2-0 against No. 3 seed Jannik Sinner, but despite the Italian's incredible form and consistency, he was able to find his game when it mattered most, winning in five sets.
The Spaniard continued to show little signs of fitness concerns, unphased by the long, grueling, and physical points in his match.
Though he will likely enter as the favorite against No. 5 Alexander Zverev, Alcaraz will once again have to be at his best to avoid an upset with an opponent that has troubled him in the past.
If he is able to do so, Alcaraz will have captured a Grand Slam title at three of the four slams, still at just 21 years old.
Alexander Zverev Earns Signature Win, Advances to First French Open Final
3 of 3
Alexander Zverev earned arguably one of the biggest wins of his career in his semifinal matchup.
The 27-year-old German, who had lost in the semifinals at the French Open the past three years, defeated No. 7 Casper Ruud in four sets.
The No. 5 seed quickly found himself down a set but was able to shift gears quickly against an opponent who just one year prior beat him decisively in three sets at this stage.
Zverev dominated with his serve and remarkable consistency, committing just four unforced errors in the second and fourth sets.
Though he will enter as the underdog when he faces Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday, Zverev has the ability to win this matchup and has already had success in the head-to-head.
Like their previous matchups, success for Zverev is once again contingent on his ability to serve and remain consistent.
