Report: Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani Buys $7.85M LA Mansion with Pool, Movie Theater, More
Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is putting down some roots after pledging to spend the next 10 years in L.A.
The Los Angeles Times' Jack Flemming reported the two-time American League MVP purchased a home worth $7.85 million in La Cañada Flintridge. The previous owner was comedian Adam Carolla.
"Highlights include a kitchen with custom cabinetry, an indoor-outdoor living room and amenities such as a movie theater, a sauna, a gym and a basketball court," Flemming wrote of the 7,327-square foot home. "Spread throughout are five bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, including a primary suite with a balcony and spa tub."

Flemming noted the mansion is also just 20 minutes away from Dodger Stadium, giving Ohtani a short commute.
Perhaps the two-way talent could've purchased an even bigger home if he hadn't deferred so much of his $700 million contract. Once he starts receiving $68 million annually in 2034, he'll finally be able to get himself the house of his dreams.
Ohtani has adjusted nicely to Dodger blue. Through 49 games, he's leading MLB in batting average (.356) and slugging percentage (.655), and his 13 home runs are the most on the team.
