Lane Kiffin's Dae'Quan Wright, Zxavian Harris LSU Roster Decision Revealed Ahead of Clemson Game

LSU didn't add tight end Dae'Quan Wright and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris to the team's roster for a season-opening clash with Clemson on Saturday, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Thamel noted that both players could potentially be added later in the year, as they're enrolled at the school.

On Thursday, a Louisiana judge issued a preliminary injunction against the NCAA in their eligibility case that paved the way for players such as Wright and Harris to suit up in college for a fifth year after spending time in NFL training camps.

However, Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger reported that Clemson general counsel Chip Hood sent a brief email to LSU's general counsel in which he brought up "certain eligibility" issues that may break "contractual obligations between the two parties."

The SEC and ACC were among several conferences that recently implemented rules to prevent players that previously declared for the NFL draft and did not withdraw consistent with NCAA requirements or signed a contract with an NFL team or another professional league from returning to play in college.

Wright reached an agreement with LSU for the 2026 season after clearing waivers upon his exit from the Cleveland Browns, while Harris committed to the Tigers after he was waived by the New Orleans Saints.

Although the SEC filed a lawsuit against LSU with a U.S. District Court in Alabama on Thursday alleging that the school violated the league's "First Amendment right of expressive association" by ignoring the new rules that prohibit the addition of former NFL players, the preliminary injunction still allowed Wright and Harris to play.

They won't be on the field when LSU and Clemson face off on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET, though.
