Bronny James Rumors: At Least 2-3 Teams Besides Lakers Plan to Host PG for Workouts
After getting an initial look at Bronny James at the NBA draft combine on Monday, it sounds like there are multiple teams hoping to further evaluate him.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium said (3:42 in video) he knows of "at least two or three teams outside of just the [Los Angeles] Lakers that want to schedule workouts and have meetings with Bronny James."
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Jonathan Givony reported on Monday that James has been medically cleared to be drafted by the NBA's Fitness to Play Panel following his diagnosis of a congenital heart defect that caused him to suffer a cardiac arrest during a workout with USC in July.
The eldest son of the legendary LeBron James, Bronny had all eyes on him during the draft combine on Monday. While his measurements were on the smaller side, he had a 40.5-inch vertical leap and also impressed with his shooting skills.
James has until the May 29 deadline to continue exploring the NBA draft waters. If he chooses to return to college, he has entered the transfer portal and will pursue opportunities away from the Trojans.
It's no secret that the elder James has a desire to play alongside his son before his incredible career comes to an end. The Lakers own the No. 17 pick in the NBA draft, though the New Orleans Pelicans have the right to a pick swap.
If the 19-year-old decides to stay in the draft, he will have every chance to improve his stock before June 26. Fans will surely be on the lookout to see which teams will be interested in James as the draft draws nearer.
