Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Steelers acquired Fields from the Bears in exchange for a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick. The selection will become a fourth-round pick if Fields plays in 51 percent of Pittsburgh's plays next season.
While both quarterbacks have starting experience, Wilson is expected to be Pittsburgh's QB1 in 2024, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Brooke Pryor.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin "was upfront with Fields" and told him that Wilson is the starter, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer added.
Wilson has far more experience despite a rough past couple of seasons in Denver. He will be entering his 13th NFL season in 2024, won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 and has earned nine Pro Bowl selections.
That said, if Wilson struggles under center, it's possible Fields will see time as the team's starting signal-caller.
Pittsburgh enters the 2024 campaign hoping to improve upon a 10-7 finish to the 2023 season. While it secured a playoff berth, the team fell to the Buffalo Bills in the wild card round.
