Tom Brady Says He's 'Still Mad' About His 3 NFL Super Bowl Losses With Patriots
Tom Brady has more Lombardi Trophies than any single NFL franchise, but he still thinks about the three Super Bowls he lost.
"I'm not over any of the Super Bowl losses," he said while laughing on his Let's Go! podcast (25:10 mark).
"I am still mad. Sixteen years later, in '07. I'm still mad, the 2011 Super Bowl, I'm still mad we lost to the [Philadelphia] Eagles. But no, you can't change the outcome and you gotta live with it. Part of being on the great stage is you have a great opportunity to win a ring. The opposite side of that coin is the most difficult loss of your career. Sometimes you've gotta risk a lot, which is a tough loss that you're gonna have to live with, in order to gain something that only one team can achieve."

Brady's New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI. They also lost to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.
Yet Brady still won seven Super Bowls, six of which came with New England. He also won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he and the AFC team went their separate ways.
"The only thing I would say from that is that every loss I was a part of motivated me to try harder and do better," Brady said. "And it gave me the perspective that when we did win again, as I did after a 10-year absence of not winning, I appreciated that win more than any other win in my career."
Of Brady's three Super Bowl losses, the Super Bowl XLII in February 2008 stands out the most. Eli Manning and the Giants stunned the NFL world with the 17-14 victory, which was the Patriots' only defeat of the regular season and playoffs.
Had New England won, it would have finished with a 19-0 record and cemented itself in football history.
Brady has said in the past that he would trade two of his seven Super Bowl rings for a victory in that game, and he likely still feels that way if his latest comments are any indication.
