O.J. Simpson Says 'All Is Well' in Video amid Reports of Cancer Diagnosis
Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson told his followers on X that "all is well" following rumors that he's in hospice care.
Per Amanda Batchelor of Local 10 News, the 76-year-old Simpson is undergoing chemotherapy for prostate cancer. That report did not claim that Simpson was in hospice care.

However, Batchelor noted, "Simpson has been reportedly telling his friends and family that he's been hearing rumors that he's in hospice care."
It's unclear where those alleged rumors have emerged, or if they exist at all, as TMZ Sports noted: "...O.J. doubled down on that denial Friday on the heels of this report coming out—and while he is denying any notion of him being in hospice...nobody seems to be claiming that."
As TMZ Sports reported, Simpson published a video on X in May 2023 in which he said he previously "caught cancer" in "recent years" and underwent chemotherapy. However, he also noted that he was done with treatment.
As for the most recent video, the Las Vegas resident added that he's hosting friends in town for the Super Bowl, which will take place on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
Simpson starred on the gridiron at USC before doing so for the Buffalo Bills and 49ers. His accolades include a Heisman Trophy, five All-Pro team honors, the 1973 AP NFL MVP award and placement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
After his NFL career, Simpson turned to acting, and he also served as a broadcaster for football games.
Simpson was at times a beloved figure during and after his football-playing days, but there was a dark side behind the public persona.
In 1989, he pleaded no contest to one count of spousal battery against his then-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
Police reportedly went to their home eight times for domestic disputes, and Nicole Brown Simpson also recounted at least 59 incidents of alleged domestic abuse at the hands of her then-husband. She filed for divorce on Feb. 25, 1992.
On June 17, 1994, Simpson was arrested and charged with the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
Despite an overwhelming amount of DNA evidence pointing to him as the killer, in October 1995, Simpson was found not guilty during the criminal trial. However, a civil jury found him liable for wrongful death in February 1997.
In October 2008, Simpson was found guilty of 12 criminal charges related to an armed robbery involving himself and a group of men at a Las Vegas hotel. Simpson claimed he was trying to take back memorabilia items that were stolen from him. He was initially sentenced to 33 years in prison but was released nine years later on parole.
