Lakers Rumors: Spencer Dinwiddie, Royce O'Neale, Finney-Smith Among Trade Targets

The Los Angeles Lakers are believed to be seeking roster improvements before the Feb. 8 trade deadline, and they are reportedly eyeing a trio of players from the Brooklyn Nets.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported Wednesday that the Lakers "have interest in" point guard Spencer Dinwiddie and wing players Royce O'Neale and Dorian Finney-Smith.

The Lakers' free fall from glory since winning the In-Season Tournament championship continued Tuesday with a 138-122 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, which dropped their record to 24-25. Los Angeles got a good look at the player considered to be its top trade target, as Hawks guard Dejounte Murray dropped 24 points, nine assists, four rebounds and two steals in the contest.

Charania indicated that there is some tumult surrounding the Lakers at this point, with "the disconnect that exists in that locker room" between players and head coach Darvin Ham as well as "the lineup discourse" that has continued amid the team's current struggles.

Charania also noted that Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine drew interest from Los Angeles, but the three years and $140 million remaining on his contract after this season is "somewhat unpalatable" for the Lakers. The team will likely put its focus on Murray, with the two sides expected to resume trade talks before the deadline.

The Lakers entered the season with hopes of competing for an NBA title as star forward LeBron James enters the twilight of his legendary career. The 39-year-old has looked frustrated at multiple times throughout the season, so Los Angeles must do what it takes to keep him happy.

The Lakers will be looking to end a two-game skid when they visit the Boston Celtics on Thursday.
