Peter King Expects Bills to Ask Stefon Diggs to Redo Contract and WR Won't 'Be Happy'
After another disappointing playoff exit, the Buffalo Bills have much to address this offseason, and one of the biggest items on the agenda is the contract of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
As NBC Sports' Peter King explained, Diggs is set to count for a $27.9 million cap hit next season and there's a likelihood that Bills general manager Brandon Beane will want to restructure his contract. However, Beane will be running the risk of upsetting one of his best players.
"I expect the Bills to want to do major surgery on Diggs' deal, and I expect Diggs to not be happy about it," King stated.

Diggs had a strong season with 107 catches for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns, but he didn't perform up to his standards. The 30-year-old didn't have a 100-yard game over Buffalo's last 11 games of the season. He also failed to make an impact in the playoffs, recording three catches for 21 yards in the Bills' AFC Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
King pointed out that Diggs' dwindling production over the course of the season is more reason for the team to want to restructure his deal.
"In fact, in the last 10 weeks of the season, Khalil Shakir had more receiving yards and touchdowns than Diggs—and it was Shakir who Josh Allen targeted on the biggest play of the season, Allen's overthrow of him in the end zone near the end of the Kansas City playoff game," King wrote.
Diggs has never been shy about voicing his frustrations, so it will be interesting to see how things play out between him and the Bills this offseason.
