NFL Rumors: Leonard Williams, Seahawks Agree to New 3-Year, $64.5M Contract
Leonard Williams is sticking around Seattle.
The former New York Jets and Giants' defensive tackle re-signed with the Seahawks Monday, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. He returns to Seattle on a three-year, $64.5 million deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Williams, 29, started the 2023 season with New York, where he put up 21 tackles (one for loss), 1.5 sacks, five quarterback hits and a pass defensed in eight games before he was traded to Seattle in late October for a second-round pick in 2024 and a fifth-rounder in 2025.

He appeared to be rejuvenated in 10 games with the Seahawks, putting up 41 tackles (nine for loss), four sacks, 11 quarterback hits and a pass defensed.
"It's really been a joy having him," former Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll told reporters in mid-December. "He's a great kid, he brings a lot of juice, he wants to play every play, killed him when he had to sit out of practice. He's got all of the good positive stuff that you hope a guy could have. I think you can see him settling in, he's becoming a real factor."
At his best, the 2016 Pro Bowler is a disruptive player on the interior of the defensive line who can get after the quarterback. While he'll likely never replicate his career-high 11.5 sacks from the 2022 season, he showed in Seattle that he still has very good football left in the tank.
He will turn 30 before the 2024 season starts, however, calling into question just how much longer that tank will stay full. But the Seahawks clearly believe he'll continue to bolster the spine of their defense going forward.
