Report: Teoscar Hernández Continues to Draw Interest from Red Sox, Dodgers in MLB FA
Former Seattle Mariners outfielder Teoscar Hernández remains one of the hottest candidates on the free-agent market this winter, and it appears two of baseball's staple franchises are interested in his services.
The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers "continue to express interest" in Hernandez, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The Dodgers continue to be linked to just about every free agent on the market after signing Shohei Ohtani to a record-setting 10-year, $700 million contract and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year, $325 million deal.

L.A. also acquired Tyler Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays and signed him to a five-year contract extension worth $136.5 million.
The Dodgers outfield is already pretty strong with Chris Taylor, James Outman, Mookie Betts, Manuel Margot and Jason Heyward. However, Betts is moving to second base in 2024 and L.A. still has no everyday left fielder, though Taylor is currently in line for that role.
If the Dodgers were to sign Hernández, he'd likely slot in as the team's everyday left fielder with Outman in center and a combination of Margot and Heyward in right.
As for Boston, the Red Sox have had a very disappointing winter despite signing Lucas Giolito to a two-year, $38.5 million deal, landing Vaughn Grissom from the Atlanta Braves in the Chris Sale trade and acquiring Tyler O'Neill from the St. Louis Cardinals.
Boston's outfield in 2024 is expected to include O'Neill, Wilyer Abreu, Masataka Yoshida, Jarren Duran, Rob Refsnyder and possibly Ceddanne Rafaela.
Yoshida is projected to start in left, Duran in center and O'Neill in right, but the team could use the depth and bat of Hernández in the outfield.
Hernández, a two-time Silver Slugger, spent the 2023 season with the Mariners after a six-year career with the Toronto Blue Jays. He slashed .258/.305/.435 with 26 home runs, 93 RBI and seven stolen bases in 160 games.
Aside from the Dodgers and Red Sox, the Los Angeles Angels have also been mentioned as a possible destination for the veteran outfielder.
