NFL Coach on Tom Brady's Retirement: 'He Has Played Too Well ... I Just Don't Buy It'
Tom Brady's first retirement failed to stick, and at least one NFL coach believes the Hall of Famer could get the itch to make another comeback.
Speaking with The Athletic's Mike Sando, the coach referenced Brady's forthcoming broadcasting career and questioned whether the future Hall of Famer will be content to follow the action from afar.
"You are telling me Brady is going to be calling San Francisco at Jacksonville next season and he is going to be looking down to the field at Trey Lance and Trevor Lawrence and it's going to be a 7-7 game in the second quarter and he is going to be sitting there saying, 'I'm where I should be, in Jacksonville's press box?'" the coach said. "He has played too well, too recently. I just don't buy it."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
On Monday, Brady confirmed he won't be entering a Fox booth until the 2024 season, so a key premise behind that theory may not be rooted in reality.
The relatively understated nature of Brady's second goodbye from the NFL also arguably reflected a kind of assuredness he clearly didn't have with his last retirement. After everything he experienced on and off the field, the 45-year-old appears ready to move on with as little fanfare as possible.
Maybe Brady's stance will change once he reaches a point where he'd be going through his usual preseason preparations.
