College Football Recruiting Rankings: Top 2023 Schools Post-National Signing Day
The top of the class of 2023 college football recruiting rankings have been set for two months.
The Alabama Crimson Tide beat out the Georgia Bulldogs for the top spot in the team rankings, according to 247Sports. The Texas Longhorns completed the top three.
Bama brought in a large haul of 5-star prospects. That has become a normal occurrence for the Tide during Nick Saban's head coaching reign.
Georgia brought in five of the best recruits to headline its class. The latest stream of talent will be expected to replace the departed national champions from the last two years.
Texas got the prized recruit of the class of 2023, as it landed quarterback Arch Manning. The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning will most likely be the quarterback who leads the Longhorns into the SEC.
Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee and Notre Dame completed the top 10 in the team recruiting rankings.
Alabama Crimson Tide
1 of 3
Alabama secured the top spot in the class of 2023 rankings after the December signing period.
The Crimson Tide landed nine 5-star players and three of the top 10 players in the class.
The biggest news from late in the cycle involved offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, who flipped late in the recruiting process from the Iowa Hawkeyes.
No. 2 overall prospect Keon Keeley, an edge-rusher from Florida, is the highest-rated prospect in the class.
Keeley is one of the few Alabama signings who did not enroll early with the program. Twenty-four members of the class did arrive in Tuscaloosa to get integrated with the Crimson Tide.
A majority of the incoming freshmen will battle for spots on the depth chart to start the season. The Crimson Tide are bringing back a handful of standouts at key positions, including wide receiver Jermaine Burton and cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry.
Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia is not leaving the national conversation anytime soon.
The Bulldogs landed the No. 2 recruiting class behind Alabama, led by No. 20 overall prospect Damon Wilson, an edge-rusher out of Florida.
Kirby Smart and his coaching staff did not land a top-10 recruit, but they brought in a deep class with a quintet of 5-star players and 17 4-star athletes.
The majority of Georgia's most talented recruits play defense. The Bulldogs landed nine defensive players who rank inside the top 100 on the overall player rankings.
That is not surprising given how talented the UGA defenses have been in the last two seasons. Georgia had five defensive players selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, and Jalen Carter will be in contention for the top draft pick this year.
On offense, Georgia did not sign a quarterback to replace Stetson Bennett because it has two potential starting signal-callers on the roster in Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff.
Texas Longhorns
3 of 3
Texas' recruiting class is all about Arch Manning.
The No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2023 was a massive signing for the future of the program under head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Texas has a quarterback with incredible pedigree who will likely lead it into the SEC.
Manning has already enrolled at Texas, and he will compete with Quinn Ewers for the starting spot in his freshman season.
He is not guaranteed to start right away, but if he beats out Ewers, a 5-star recruit in his own right, it would be one of the biggest storylines entering the 2023 college football season.
Texas also landed three other 5-star recruits, including Cedric Baxter Jr., the top running back in the class of 2023.
The Longhorns brought in four wide receivers and five offensive linemen in an offensive-heavy class.
The entire group surrounding Manning could turn into one of the best units in a few years' time.
