
Report: Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes' Ankle Injury Had No 'Major Setbacks' vs. Bengals
Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is in "good shape" after suffering no "major setbacks" from his ankle injury in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Mahomes is on track to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII on Feb. 12.
Mahomes gave Chiefs fans a scare early in the AFC divisional round against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was attempting to scramble when Jaguars defensive end Arden Key was tackling him and his ankle got rolled up.

After trying to play through the injury, Mahomes went to the locker room and got taped up. He wound up missing two series at the end of the first half. Backup Chad Henne led a 98-yard touchdown drive to put Kansas City up 17-7.
Mahomes was back on the field for the second half. He finished 22-of-30 for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs' 27-20 victory.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in the win. The five-time Pro Bowler vowed he would "be ready to go, for sure" in the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals.
Despite dealing with an obvious limp on Sunday, Mahomes came through with 326 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the 23-20 win. He even rushed for a key first down to set up the game-winning field goal.
Fans should expect a similar performance against the Eagles as Mahomes seeks his second Super Bowl title.
