Matt Flynn Makes History as Packers Win Shootout over Lions
It took 45 points for the Green Bay Packers to defeat the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers wasn't even starting.
That's right, backup Matt Flynn, who has had some impressive performances in the past, was out of this world against the Lions on Sunday.
He ended up passing for 480 yards and six touchdowns to one interception, and he led the Packers to victory after they were trailing headed into the fourth quarter.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With his performance, Flynn did what neither Rodgers nor Brett Favre had ever done in a Packers uniform and set the Packers records for passing yards in a single game and passing touchdowns in a single game.
You may remember, Flynn had a huge game against the New England Patriots in Week 15 last season, going 24-of-37 for 251 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in his first career start.
Despite being a seventh-round pick in 2008, Flynn sure hasn't played like it with limited opportunities. The way he's stepped up when given the chance, you almost wonder if he will become Rodgers' successor down the line.
Of course, he could go the route of former Philadelphia Eagles' backup Kevin Kolb, who was traded to the Arizona Cardinals before this season.
But one thing's for sure: when the Packers' backup quarterback starts throwing for nearly 500 yards and six touchdowns in a game, it doesn't exactly make their opponents feel any better about their chances of ousting the defending champions.
It's also another reason for Packers fans to gloat.
From Favre to Rodgers to Flynn?
It could happen.
