Updated 2022 WWE Clash at the Castle Match Card Ahead of PPV
For the first time in 19 years, a WWE main roster pay-per-view is set to emanate from the United Kingdom.
On Saturday, Clash at the Castle will take place in Cardiff, Wales, making it not only the first WWE UK premium live event in nearly two decades, but the first WWE UK stadium show since the legendary SummerSlam 1992 pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium in London.
The location alone makes Clash at the Castle a must-watch event, but the card adds even more intrigue to the situation, especially when it comes to the main event.

Clash at the Castle Top Matches to Watch
Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
Reigns has enjoyed a historic run as world champion thus far, but it could all finally come to an end on Saturday in Cardiff.
WWE has clearly been slowly building toward a Reigns vs. McIntyre encounter at Clash at the Castle ever since the event was announced, and the company has undoubtedly turned up the heat in recent weeks in terms of its presentation of McIntyre.
The Scottish Warrior was red hot leading up to his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 after winning the Royal Rumble, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to have that match with no fans in attendance.
McIntyre became a two-time WWE champion during the pandemic era, however, he is still waiting for his big moment in front of fans.
Beating Reigns for the world title would be a huge deal anywhere, but if McIntyre can do it in the United Kingdom, he is likely to receive the biggest reaction of his career in a moment that would cement him as a top star for years to come.
Of course, The Tribal Chief is in the midst of one of the greatest title reigns in WWE history, and the possibility of him retaining can't be ruled out despite the pomp and circumstance.
On top of everything, Reigns and McIntyre have shown in the past that they have great in-ring chemistry with each other, and there is little doubt that they should put on a spectacular match regardless of the result.
Gunther vs. Sheamus
No match has higher stakes than Reigns vs. McIntyre, but in terms of pure in-ring quality, the Intercontinental Championship bout between Gunther and Sheamus will be tough to top.
Gunther vs. Sheamus is a legitimate dream match for many, as they are two of the most physical and hardest-hitting Superstars in WWE history, so the expectation is that they will beat each other to a pulp at Clash at the Castle.
After being the longest-reigning NXT UK champion of all time, Gunther has successfully translated his dominance to the main roster, as he is undefeated thus far.
Since beating Ricochet for the IC title in June, the Austrian Superstar has been unstoppable, beating Ricochet in a rematch and successfully defending against Shinsuke Nakamura as well.
Sheamus has enjoyed some success of his own lately, thanks in part to the presence of Brawling Brutes stablemates Ridge Holland and Butch.
The Celtic Warrior won a Fatal 5-Way match on a recent episode of SmackDown to become No. 1 contender for the IC title, and he arguably poses the biggest threat to Gunther's reign yet.
While Gunther vs. Sheamus is technically a heel vs. heel match, Sheamus figures to receive a great reaction in Wales as an Irishman, meaning Gunther will have to contend with both a tough opponent and a raucous crowd.
Bayley, Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair, Asuka & Alexa Bliss
In a match that has essentially been in the works since SummerSlam, the trio of Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky will look to leave their mark at Clash at the Castle when they face Raw women's champion Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss in a six-woman tag team match.
After missing more than a year because of injury, Bayley made a surprise return at SummerSlam, and she wasn't alone, as she brought Kai and Sky with her.
The group put Becky Lynch on the shelf the following week on Raw and turned their attention to Belair, but The EST had some backup in the form of Asuka and Bliss.
Bayley, Kai and Sky were already motivated to win at Clash at the Castle, but that motivation grew on Monday's Raw when Belair, Asuka and Bliss played a role in costing Kai and Sky their WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match against Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah.
If Bayley's team is able to defeat Belair's team at Clash at the Castle, it could go a long way toward earning Bayley a Raw women's title match as well.
The six Superstars involved in Saturday's match are six of the most talented women in WWE, and no matter who prevails, they promise to put on a great show in Cardiff.
