Miami Heat: Why the Boys of South Beach Are Still the NBA's Most Hated Team

David DanielsDec 28, 2011

How many NBA fans need a barf bag after Tuesday night’s Miami Heat-Boston Celtics game?

LeBron James doesn’t seem as conceited as last season and Dwyane Wade isn’t as LeBronish.  Despite the slight change in the attitudes of the players, Miami will still continue to be the most hated team in the entire league.

Why you ask?  Ladies and gentleman, I give you what I like to call the...

Tebow Syndrome: when someone or something garners unwarranted hype and praise to the overwhelming extreme; that someone or something is targeted by those who did not jump on the original bandwagon.

Are you writing this down WebMD?

Last season, hate of the Heat stemmed from LeBron’s combination of unrivaled arrogance and a lack of loyalty along with the entire teams’ why doesn’t anyone like me sickening attitude.

This season, James and company haven’t shown their true colors yet, but the hate will not depart.

If Tim Tebow—an athlete who is seemingly the ideal role model—can have NFL fans taking numbers to rip him apart, you better believe the same thing will happen to the Heat.

With their win over the Celtics, Miami became the first team in league history to clinch an NBA title after just two games—we’ll at least that’s what it felt like.

If you watched the game and were able to keep your thumb off of the mute button, you heard Mike Fratello practically ask Pat Riley for his hand in marriage.  After every Heat basket they’re on another level, planet…what comes after planet?

In another stratosphere!  I would bet money that after one of Wade’s dunks and/or blocks, a ball boy had to be called over to wipe the drool off the broadcasting table.

Miami ended up defeated Boston by just eight points.

Eight points without their best player in Paul Pierce while be forced to matchup against the Celtics' All-World Big Three of Marquis Daniels, Keyon Dooling and Chris Wilcox.  Scratch that, I meant to say Big Four; I forgot Sasha Pavlovic.

Congratulations Miami Heat, you have just won the 2012 NBA Finals.

While the so-called kings are crowned and Fratello along with the rest of the fake Heat fans bow down, please, please don't wonder why Miami is still the most hated team in the league.  They threw a party last summer, got ripped apart for it and this year what do they still want shining on them?

All of the lights.
