Domenik Hixon Video: Watch Hixon's Miraculous TD Grab Against the Rams
Who needs Steve Smith when you have Domenik Hixon?
It would have been difficult to pose such a question with a straight face before Monday night. Steve Smith, formerly of the New York Giants and now with the Philadelphia Eagles, is a former Pro Bowler. Domenik Hixon is...well, he's Domenik Hixon.
But hey, we now know that Hixon has some pretty good hands attached to his arms. He showed them off in primetime against the St. Louis Rams when he made a circus touchdown catch just before the end of the first half.

If you missed it, you can watch Hixon's grab in the above video. As you will see, I'm not exaggerating.
Hixon really had no business catching Eli Manning's pass, which looked ticketed for the ground after it hit him in the chest. But he just kept tipping it and tipping it until it ended up safely in his possession for a 22-yard touchdown grab. At the time, it put the Giants up 21-6. They would go on to win 28-16.
The reception was Hixon's second of the night, and it's a good thing he made it count. It turned out that he actually injured his right leg on the play, and he was unable to return to the game in the second half.
The good news, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, is that Hixon's injury is not too serious. He's going to have an MRI on Tuesday, but it sounds like his inability to return was more a mental thing than a physical thing.
At least, that's what Giants head coach Tom Coughlin believes. He said after the game that Hixon's "confidence was rattled" because he injured the same knee that cost him the season in 2010, as Hixon suffered a torn ACL a few months before the season kicked off.
Regardless, it looks like Hixon's hands are just fine. This video will forever be a shining testament to that fact.
