I love it when Brian Orakpo writes my stories for me.

The Washington Redskins rookie defensive end/linebacker is up for Week 10 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week following his five-tackle, one-and-a-half sack performance against the Denver Broncos. He has seven sacks on the season. (H/T to David Elfin, Redskins 360 for the pointer.)

Fan votes are tabulated on through noon on Friday, Nov. 20.

It is the second consecutive week Orakpo has earned the nomination (which lets me recycle last weeks story).

Orakpo is up against Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin, Cardinals running back Beanie Wells, Bengals return man Bernard Scott, and Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

Tell me again, when does Pro Bowl voting open?

Nov 20, 2009 UPDATE: Clay Matthews, rookie linebacker of the Green Bay Packers was selected Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week according to a story on announcements for the winners of this honor are hard to find on the NFL Web Site, much less so than the fan voting for the event. Vote for the Rookie gets home page space during the week leading up to the vote.

The Rookie of the Week is selected by fan votes. Polls close at Noon Fridays.
