Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant Displeased with Question About PG's Game 3 Squat

Alec NathanJun 9, 2017

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant weren't enthused by a question referencing the point guard's infamous Game 3 squat in the aftermath of the Golden State Warriors' 137-116 Game 4 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Appearing at the postgame podium, Curry was asked about his decision to squat while head coach Steve Kerr and forward Draymond Green tried to sort out a perplexing technical foul situation in the third quarter.

However, neither Curry nor Durant offered much in the way of a response, as Sports Illustrated documented:

The initial play that brought the squat to attention came in the closing stages of Game 3, when Curry reacted to Kevin Durant's go-ahead three-pointer with 45.3 seconds remaining in regulation:

Citing sources, Fox Sports Ohio's Sam Amico reported in advance of Game 4 that several Cavaliers players were "highly agitated" by Curry's actions.

However, Curry said he didn't mean any disrespect once he had time to go back and look at the tape.

"It was all spontaneous. I wish I could have a little bit more control over here," he said, per The Score's Chris Walder. "The reactions in certain situations ... I really don't know what I did last night. I saw it, but I don't know what I was doing. I even dropped my mouthpiece because I was so uncoordinated in that sense. It is what it is."
