Dak Prescott Turns Down Free Kanye West Concert Tickets to Sleep
Dak Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to a 4-1 start without throwing a single interception. When a rookie quarterback plays that well for a prominent NFL franchise, his every move gets monitored.
The fourth-round pick has countered that scrutiny by staying home, watching football and getting a good night's sleep.
In the latest Sports Illustrated cover story, Prescott said he turned down free tickets to a Kanye West concert at the American Airlines Center on September 22. Instead, he watched Week 3's underwhelming Thursday Night Football game, a 27-0 New England Patriots shutout of the Houston Texans. The Clemson Tigers' 26-7 victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets didn't offer much more excitement.
"I wanted to go a little bit," Prescott told Pete Thamel regarding West's Saint Pablo Tour show. "But I just think about the perception of it all. And I love my sleep."
Just like fellow NFC East rookie passer Carson Wentz watching game film during date nights, this is the type of story that will get over-sensationalized to validate a young player's success. It's a soothing antidote to every Johnny Manziel tale.
Or maybe he was just tired. Who hasn't chosen a quiet night in over a long night out?
