Gasol Coming Off Injury-Shortened Season
Gasol is preparing to return for the 2016-17 season healthy after breaking his foot in February, missing the final 30 games of the season.
Given the pattern of his first eight years in the league, 2016-17 is expected to yield a healthy season for him. Starting in his rookie season in 2008-09, Gasol appeared in at least 80 games in every other season.
During the other four years, including last season, he missed at least 13 games.
Regardless of his injury problems, Gasol remained consistent in Memphis' frontcourt, averaging 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game over his career.
