In less than a week, 598 hockey players of all sorts will hit the 2012 NHL free-agent market, their contracts having all expired on the first day of July.

Currently, 286 of those pending free agents are restricted, though—a sneaky variation that makes matters far more complicated when it comes to signed each and every one of them.

While technically without a contract, restricted free agents can only be given matchable "offer sheets" by interested out-of-town suitors, making it much easier for the player's current team to eventually re-sign them.

To get to that point, though, an RFA must first receive a qualifying offer from their original team by noon on June 25. With that point in time now behind us, the list of players not qualified by their current clubs is beginning to trickle in—and that list of 286 of RFA's is beginning to slowly shrink.

As the reports pour in, here is the latest list of the now-unrestricted free agents who did were not given qualifying offers today. The most notable players have been underlined for convenience.
