WWE: 10 Celebrities Who Could Be Part of a WrestleMania Main Event

Drake OzDec 27, 2011

Celebrities have become almost as big a part of WrestleMania as the matches themselves.

While we always expect to see the WWE Championship on the line at the company's biggest pay-per-view of the year, we've grown accustomed to celebrity involvement at well.

It's been going on since the early days of WrestleMania when the likes of Mr. T and Lawrence Taylor competed on the grandest stage of them all, and it's continued in recent years when Mickey Rourke, Floyd Mayweather and Snooki each got to have their own WrestleMania moments.

There are countless celebrities who could be involved in a future WrestleMania event (somehow, some way).

So, let's take a look at 10 well-known names who might be the next star we see in the ring at WrestleMania.

10. Eminem

1 of 10

Back in early 2008, a ridiculous rumor surfaced that Eminem had actually signed with the WWE to become a full-time wrestler.

Eminem would later refute those reports, and obviously, he hasn't showed up in the company over the last three years. But who really knows if he will down the road?

He's one of the biggest names in rap music, and I could easily see him performing someone's WrestleMania entrance song or something along those lines.

I suppose Eminem could even wrestle if he wanted to pull a K-Fed, but I doubt anyone's clamoring for that to happen on pay-per-view.

I'd stick with Eminem doing something like this, just because he's a popular enough musician to draw casual fans into the pay-per-view for what would even be a brief appearance.

At the very least, I would love to see Eminem on a WWE PPV just so he can show John Cena how to actually rap.

9. Jillian Michaels

2 of 10

One of the biggest fitness celebrities out there, Jillian Michaels was actually linked to the WWE at the beginning of 2011.

When the company was gearing up for the reboot of Tough Enough, Michaels was reportedly approached to be a trainer on the show, a role that eventually went to Trish Stratus.

And what did Trish do shortly after agreeing to be a Tough Enough trainer? Oh yeah, she competed at WrestleMania.

Although there have been no real rumblings about Michaels coming to the WWE since January, she has become a household name thanks to her involvement on NBC's hit show The Biggest Loser.

Both NBC and USA are under the NBC Universal umbrella, so Michaels' prior work with the company could lead to her doing something with WWE down the road.

8. Daniel Tosh

3 of 10

Has anyone seen the episode of Tosh.O where Daniel Tosh makes fun of the crying wrestling fan?

If you have, you know that it's absolutely priceless.

Tosh has quickly established himself as one of the funniest guys on TV, and given that he dedicated an entire portion of his show to pro wrestling, one would think that he at least has some knowledge of the business.

He was able to easily rip on the guy in the video, and of course, he made it incredibly hilarious in the process.

Tosh isn't exactly PG, but with the WWE attempting to do plenty of comedy with guys like Santino Marella, Ricardo Rodrgiuez and Teddy Long lately, Tosh would fit in well as someone who is actually consistently funny.

I'm not sure what his role would be, but obviously, it would have something to do with comedy.

7. Arnold Schwarzenegger

4 of 10

Why not?

If the WWE is going to use a celebrity for WrestleMania, the company will want to use someone who has nationwide or even international appeal.

Look no further than "The Governator," Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He is a former governor of Calfornia, Mr. Olympia and the freakin' Terminator for crying out loud.

Aside from a few cameos, Schwarzenegger hasn't starred in a movie in about 10 years, but now that he's officially done with politics, he could be looking to get back out there in the entertainment field.

So, what better way to promote your new Terminator movie than by appearing at WrestleMania, Arnold?

6. Aaron Rodgers

5 of 10

Aaron Rodgers has taken the sports world by storm over the last year or so.

He led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory back in February, he's the runaway favorite to win the NFL MVP award this season and he's got the Packers looking to repeat as NFL champions.

When Rodgers was leading Green Bay to win after win at the end of the 2010-11 season, we all noticed that championship belt gesture he would do when he scored, and of course, he actually carried a replica World Heavyweight Championship while celebrating the team's Super Bowl win.

Instantly, wrestling fans across the world noticed the connection between Rodgers and the WWE, and Rodgers' buddy Clay Matthews (behind him in the picture) actually appeared in a WWE ring shortly after this photo was taken.

Perhaps it's time now for Rodgers to do the same, especially if Green Bay wins the Super Bowl again in February.

5. Lil Wayne

6 of 10

There seems to be two schools of thought when it comes to Lil Wayne: you love him, or you hate him.

Sounds perfect for professional wrestling, right?

In all seriousness, Wayne is known for referencing pro wrestling in his songs, and just off the top of my head, I can remember him mentioning "Macho Man" Randy Savage, John Cena and Andre the Giant throughout his career.

Clearly, Wayne is at least a casual wrestling fan, and he just so happens to currently live in the city that's playing host to WrestleMania a few months from now—Miami.

Weezy has two obvious connections to the WWE at this point, and if the company wants to fork up some major dough to try and get more fans to buy WrestleMania, then he could have a realistic shot at being involved with the pay-per-view.

4. Mark Cuban

7 of 10

At WrestleMania 23, we saw "The Battle of the Billionaires" between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump, with Bobby Lashley representing Trump and Umaga representing McMahon.

Well, if the WWE wants to do a similar storyline again, then I could certainly picture Mark Cuban stepping into Trump's role.

Cuban is known as one of the most outrageous owners in sports, but he's also a brilliant businessman and someone who's worked with the WWE on numerous occasions in the past.

He could step in as the baby face (in Dallas) or the the heel (anywhere but Dallas), and instantly he would get the WWE a lot of publicity in the sports world.

Publicity is generally what Vince is looking for from these celebrity appearances at WrestleMania, and outside of maybe Jerry Jones, no owner in pro sports is going to get more of that than Cuban.

3. Michael Clarke Duncan

8 of 10

One of the WWE's biggest fans, both literally and figuratively speaking, is Michael Clarke Duncan.

The Green Mile actor has been shown in attendance at Monday Night Raw on more than one occasion, and I personally think it would be phenomenal to see him step into the ring.

At 6'5", 300-plus pounds, Duncan is bigger than the majority of wrestlers currently on the WWE roster, and he's one of the few celebrities out there who could wrestle a match and make it believable if he wins it.

If Duncan's size isn't enough, there's also the fact that he's a legitimate fan, and it always makes for a better celebrity appearance when the particular celebrity actually knows what's going on in the WWE.

I don't know about you, but I think it would be awesome to see Duncan get in the ring and wipe the floor with guys who are probably half his age.

2. Shaquille O'Neal

9 of 10

As I'm sure you've heard by now, Shaquille O'Neal is reportedly in talks with the WWE about wrestling The Big Show at WrestleMania 28.

That's a potentially huge matchup between two of the biggest athletes on the planet, one of which just so happens to be one of the most well-known stars in NBA history.

Shaq is one of the most beloved athletes there is, someone with both national and international appeal, who's playing days only recently ended. He should, at least theoretically, still be in pretty good shape, which would make it a lot easier on him to get in the ring.

No one's going to be pining for Shaq and Big Show to chain wrestle, because all we want to see is these two behemoths go at each other's throats.

We've already got a taste of Show vs. Shaq in the past, which is why this epic WrestleMania matchup would make a ton of sense.

It would likely generate a ton of PPV buys, and there aren't very many celebrities out there who would be able to do that quite like Shaq can.

1. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

10 of 10

Since most of you were expecting to see Shaq at the top of this list, I decided to throw a wild card here: UFC fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Rampage actually hosted an episode of Monday Night Raw back in the summer of 2010, and just looking at the guy, it was clear that he'd be a great fit in the WWE.

He's got the look, the wrestling background (he wrestled in high school), he's a known WWE fan, he's got acting experience and—take this for what it's worth—his Wikipedia page says he actually considered pursuing a pro wrestling career before going into MMA.

Jackson has also expressed interest in wrestling for the WWE "if they'll have me."

Maybe it's just me, but depending upon how Rampage's UFC career plays out over the next few years, I think there's a solid chance that we'll see him performing in a WWE ring in the near future.
