Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The nWo terrorized WCW for 18 months straight until Sting captured the World Heavyweight Championship from Hulk Hogan.
Then Kevin Nash, Randy Savage, Scott Hall, and some other nWo members declared their independence from Hulk Hogan and formed the Wolfpac.
The Kevin Nash-led Wolfpac and the Hulk Hogan-led Hollywood factions were warring for months.
Finally, at Fall Brawl, the two factions put their livelihoods on the line in a War Games match. The losing team must permanently disband.
This epic War Games match will lead off part 2!
Fall Brawl
When the dust settled and the smoke was clear, Sting destroyed Hulk Hogan with his trademark baseball bat, giving the Wolfpac the victory!
The New World Order edition of Hollywood is no more!
The Wolfpac song blares out with the fans in jubilation.
Fallout from Fall Brawl
Hulk Hogan took some time off. Scott Steiner teamed up with Buff Bagwell and Rick Steiner. The Giant went back to WCW as a monster heel until he left for the WWF in early 1999.
Most of the nWo Hollywood members went back to WCW in some capacity. The WCW locker room was not welcoming to them.
Hulk Hogan's days were over in WCW, or so we think. The Wolfpac reigns supreme over the WCW landscape now.
Then, after a couple of weeks of celebration, Kevin Nash decides to target WCW as the Wolfpac's next target.
The nWo would need to take over WCW to fulfill Kevin Nash's and Scott Hall's original goal, which was to defeat WCW in the Monday Night Wars.
On one Nitro, Sting was found viciously beaten backstage.
Suspects within the WCW realm were likely, since Sting had betrayed WCW to join the Wolfpac. Ric Flair and Bret Hart were gunning for the Stinger. Raven's Flock were also suspected, since Raven had a beef with Sting.
However, the culprit was not WCW.
Kevin Nash admitted that the Wolfpac was responsible for this heinous atrocity. Nash declared "Sting turned his back on the Wolfpac, and ended up in a body bag!"
In reality, Sting decided to take some time off. In the real version of the nWo angle, Sting was injured and took a hiatus in late 1998/early 1999.
It was safe to say the Wolfpac turned heel that night with that shocking admission.
Then the Wolfpac gained momentum to their quest of taking over WCW. They trimmed down their membership to four people: Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Randy Savage, and Lex Luger.
Luger was readmitted into the Wolfpac after helping Nash and Hall regain the tag titles from Harlem Heat.
These four men made up the new core of the Wolfpac. Nash and Hall decided that quality took precedence over quantity.
They quickly decided to run roughshod over WCW. They interrupted WCW segments, cut promos during matches, and viciously beat down WCW wrestlers who tried to stop them.
Just like the original nWo back in 1996.
All of this built up to yet another epic War Games match at Starrcade. Ric Flair and WCW decided to stand up to the Wolfpac.
Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen decided to have a winner-take-all War Games match to determine control of WCW. The losers will be fired from the company.
At the time, Ric Flair's longtime ally and friend JJ Dillon was WCW Commissioner. Dillon gave Flair significant control of WCW.
Flair and the rest of the Four Horsemen (Dillon was once a member back in the NWA days) had long feuded with both nWo Hollywood and the Wolfpac.
Flair and Dillon wanted to get rid of the New World Order forever.
Out of fear for job security, WCW big names such as Bret Hart and Goldberg balked at joining Team WCW.
In fact, Goldberg defended his title against Bret Hart at Starrcade.
Ric Flair enlisted Arn Anderson, Curt Hennig, and Chris Benoit to reform the Four Horsemen for one last time.
Four Horsemen vs. nWo for all the marbles. The two greatest WCW stables of all time doing battle. The fans are gasping for air right now due to the electricity of that bout.
Starrcade 1998
The big day came among over 70,000 people in the Georgia Dome. This was at the height of the Monday Night Wars. Therefore, there was a lot of pressure on WCW to deliver in a big way for Starrcade.
The buildup was magnificent. The card seemed stacked with countless fantastic matches.
But the biggest sell is that the incredibly popular nWo vs. WCW war will finally culminate.
Bret Hart just fell short of defeating Goldberg and his undefeated streak for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Now it's the ultimate battle between the Four Horsemen and the nWo.
Ric Flair leads Chris Benoit, Curt Hennig, and Arn Anderson against Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage.
Miss Elizabeth is the valet for the Wolfpac while Bobby "The Brain" Heenan manages the Horsemen.
Now the match is underway.
Ric Flair quickly takes advantage of the No Holds Barred scenario and low blows Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
Randy Savage rakes the eyes of Arn Anderson. Chris Benoit and Lex Luger are exchanging submission moves.
It is a war.
Who wins the final battle between WCW and nWo? Stay tuned for part 3!
