Jaguars vs. Titans: Why Chris Johnson's Struggles Will Continue Against Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans face off in an AFC South divisional matchup on Christmas Eve. This is a game in which Chris Johnson's struggles will continue.
Johnson has been the most disappointing player, both as a fantasy player and as an actual player, in the NFL this year. Remember, after the lockout finally ended, Johnson held out for the second year in a row.
The Titans acceded to their proud star's demands, handing him a four-year, $53.5 million contract. What did they get for that pile of cash? An uninspired superstar who hasn't appeared very hungry this year.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Titans and Jaguars faced off in Week 1, and Johnson was still out of shape. He had a dismal performance in that game, rushing for only 24 yards on nine carries.
Things didn't really improve much for Johnson. In fact, out of 14 games this season, Johnson has only really shown up for four of those games. The stats for those four games:
- 96 carries for 574 yards (5.98 yards per carry) and three touchdowns
Even more damning is this evidence: The four teams that he did well against (Carolina, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Cleveland) are 25th, 29th, 30th and 31st respectively against the run.
Johnson's remaining 10 games went like this:
- 136 carries for 356 yards (2.62 yards per carry) and one touchdown
The Jaguars aren't an elite run defense, but they are in the top half of the league and are ranked 14th against the run, giving up just over 110 yards a game.
Daryl Smith and Paul Posluszny lead a strong linebacking corps, and Dawan Landry is good at cleaning up anything the front seven left behind.
I don't see Johnson having much success against this group. His struggles will continue in Week 16 against the Jaguars.
