WWE TLC 2011 Results: Champions Prove WWE's Recognition of ROH
Tonight was the night where two independent wrestlers from the company, Ring of Honor, rose up to win two of the biggest titles in the biggest wrestling company in the world.
Throughout the careers of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk they always heard from their critics, “You’re not big enough,” “You can never draw any money” and “The WWE doesn’t push guys they do not create.” After Tables Ladders and Chairs, they now hold the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title.
The title wins were so monumental for Punk and Bryan, that Punk took to his Twitter account to tweet out a picture with the caption, “Two Indy schmucks didn’t do so bad, Eh?”

For the WWE to put both of their most respected titles, on two wrestlers that made a name for themselves on the independent scene, proves that they recognize where these two men came from.
The WWE will never publicly speak of ROH on their television. However, with Punk and Bryan both holding these titles, it shows that the WWE does acknowledge a smaller federation that can produce talent that comes from a company like ROH.
The WWE more than likely will not brokerage another deal with ROH like the one they had with Extreme Championship Wrestling back in the mid-90’s That deal saw the WWE promote ECW on Raw, while having the WWE send some of their talent to ECW shows.
For Punk, Bryan and another ROH alumni, Evan Bourne, to all be holding titles in the WWE it should give hope to those professional wrestlers who are toiling in the independent scene. These champions prove that anyone can make it big in the WWE.
With Punk and Bryan as the World Heavyweight and WWE Champion it should usher in an era where you have to be talented and not rely on a cool catch phrase to get over with the company.
There were a lot of memories to take away from TLC. However, the biggest one has to be seeing both Punk and Bryan holding up the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Title.
At TLC, Punk and Bryan proved that no matter where you came from, you can make it big in the WWE.
