WWE News: Is Triple H Making Huge Changes to Florida Championship Wrestling?
With NXT now restricted to WWE.com and the show never really living up to its hype anyway, it looks like WWE’s developmental workers will now have to be called up straight to the main roster and bypass NXT, à la Alberto Del Rio.
The issue with that, however, is bringing up wrestlers before they are ready to be on the main roster, and Triple H seems to be working vigorously to prevent that from happening.

"WWE’s developmental system is on the verge of undergoing some major changes in the coming months – and it all has to do with how WWE calls up their talent to the main roster.
"
"Recruiting talent is not an issue at this point – as Florida Championship Wrestling currently features on of its best rosters ever. Wrestlers such as Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Husky Harris and Percy Watson all have potential to be breakout stars – but WWE has learned the hard way how absolutely crucial first impressions are and what happens when you introduce talent before they’re ready.
"
"Triple H’s latest inititive is not to bring developmental talent to the main roster until the WWE creative team has a character in mind for them and a long-term idea of how to use them.
On many occasions, WWE has called up wrestlers without properly introducing them or having an angle for them. The wrestlers are seen as “filler” and their careers are badly damaged.
It’s been acknowledged that several FCW stars have more potential than guys on the main roster, but WWE does not want to bring the FCW guys up until their characters are more polished.
Because many of FCW’s most promising stars spent years working the independent scene (Rollins, Ambrose), that path is no longer looked down upon the way it was just a few years ago. Maybe that Punk guy had something to do with that.
"
Well, it may be pretty obvious that you shouldn’t bring wrestlers up the main roster until you have a long-term plan for them, but this is something that the WWE really struggles with, not just for developmental stars but main roster talent as well.
The lack of long-term planning in the company has really hurt the WWE in 2011—just look at the storyline between CM Punk and Triple H—and it is going to hurt new main roster members just as much, if not more so.
Just in terms of talent, guys like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose should be on RAW or SmackDown already, because the time they spent on the independent circuit has them more prepared to put on solid matches than some guys we see on TV every week.
That being said, I absolutely do not want to see the WWE bring either of those guys up just because they’re “ready,” only to have no real storyline for them whatsoever.
It is indeed true that first impressions can make or break your career—ask Braden Walker if that’s the case—and the last thing we want to see is a guy with a ton of potential get thrust into a stupid storyline or get lost in the shuffle and then find himself getting future endeavored as a result.
The WWE should indeed wait to call these guys up until there is a perfect storyline and perfect character for them, but they shouldn’t take forever to make that happen, either.
